298 Eyeballs?

Apparently Kiry was reading a book called 'Mice are Nice'  one day during the Thanksgiving holiday and decided to count all of the eyeballs in it. That night as David was getting the kids in bed and after saying prayers, Kiry procedes to tell him of this little bit of trivia.  It amused him so, that he had to share it with me.  So now I, in turn, am sharing it with all of you who read this blog. She is a strange little girl, but then, she comes from strange people too!
And we like it!

T'was the week before Thanksgiving....

T'was the week before Thanksgiving and all through the house, everyone was sleeping, even the Mom ( Yeah, I know it doesn't rhyme, so sue me, but just be patient and keep reading).  When suddenly, there arose such a sound (from the baby monitor), I sprang from my bed, to see what was the matter.
Such a little she was (the 2 yr. old), all crying and sick, who had just barfed-up all her spaghetti, which was gooey and quite thick.  As another child chimed "Eewww gross!" and started to hurl, I yelled "Don't look! Get back in bed!" and ran the 2 yr old from the room.
She was tossed into the Tub, clothing and all. While I turned on the water and got into the shower stall. I hosed her down, right jolly O' Quick, cause I was tired and it was 3 o'clock in the morning, not to mention, I too, felt sick.
As I finished-up  getting her all nice and clean, she announced that she would like to watch "Pooh" if you please. We watched said movie without pluamb or fanfair, and when it was over, retired upstairs. As I laid her in her bed, and said a gentle "Goodnight", I knew I had to get up in just 2 more hours with the others and would look afright!
Who knew I'd be going through this for the next 5 days? Not Me! That's for sure, but sometimes that's just the way it is.

This all started Wed.  morning at 3a.m. Nov. 19th. By Thurs. 8 a.m. Nov. 20th Kiry got the sickness (stomach flu with the 3 P's {Pee, Poop, and Puke} all at the same time). That night at 11 p.m. my dear husband said that I should get some rest, after all, I'd been taking care of 2 sick children and 1 active baby all day long. So I agreed to get some sleep, but felt guilty leaving him downstairs alone with Kiry and Emmy miserable, but asleep on the air-mattress. To help aleave  the guilt, I left the kids door open and the baby monitor on, so I could hear if he needed any help. But what I heard about 5 min. later was not coming from downstairs, but from the actual kids room and it was that familiar sound, and yelled to David "Another one's down!" Poor Jesse, had finally gotten the sickness too! He was soo miserable all night long and Poor David just couldn't stay awake any longer, so I shooed him upstairs with the sleeping baby, and I stayed awake all night long pulling Jesse up to stumble to the bathroom every 45 min. Wheeww!
So my Dear Husband went to work the next morning, and by 2 p.m. Fri. afternoon, came home with the sickness too. (My mother-in-law, Linda, even came that night to fix us food. It was so nice. I didn't even have to cook. ) I refused to get sick, as mothers often do, and just had a little intestinal problem, thank goodness and that was all. But poor little Emmy, she just wouldn't eat anything for 3 days and kept throwing up all her drinks, so that by Sat. night, I went to the E.R. (along with my Mother-in-law) because her little tummy looked like it had swallowed a balloon! Nurse Tom gave her medication for the throwing up part and an IV (which she screamed bloody murder throughout) and the guy in the next bed, asked if we could be moved, because his head hurt. So they moved us down the hall to a small room with a door, just in case she needed to scream again and so they could shut the door to make it a little quieter for the other patients.  With all that saline solution coursing through her veins, she litterally blew-out- of 4 diapers in 20 min. We had to change the sheets three times. After that, when the IV was done, Emmy was fine and we went home. By Mon. Nov. 23rd all the kids were back to normal and trying to kill each other over the littlest thing, that I announced that they would be going back to school on Tues.  It was a LONG 6 Days and Nights, but now everyone is happy and healthy! Thanks for letting me share my saga. Hope it wasn't too long!
